Since the last Leap Day, we’ve all been through a lot. We’ve lived through the pandemic. Whatever that looked like for you and yours, it was a lot. For some of us, changes occurred with our friends and family’s health as well as the ability to easily visit one another. Many experienced a pause, delay, or prolonged postponements for special milestone trips or journeys that had been planned for years. A multitude of aspects evolved dramatically in luxury travel – a lot of changes for the better and many transitions that make our work as professional travel advisors even more important. It’s all been a lot, and frankly, there’s still a lot of pent-up demand in the travel industry. Many of these factors have led to a consistent perspective we hear from Avontuur travelers today:
“I want to travel now.”
Whatever the reason or whoever your travel companions may be, it’s important to start the planning conversation. We’d love to remind you about the rule of thumb if you’re reviewing your calendar right now:
We understand life gets busy and days on the calendar have a tendency to fill up quickly. All of a sudden a season flies by and we’re reflecting on our ever-changing to-do list – which hopefully includes considering your next big trip.
The good news is that 2024 provides us with a special gift: a bonus day! February 29 only comes around once every four years so let’s make the most of it.
- Spring break or last-minute getaways this spring – we’re behind a little, but not to worry – let’s get started now!
- Summer Travel – Let’s be sure to connect within the next 30 days.
- Japan and New Zealand are incredibly popular destinations at the moment; please leave a little extra time here for planning – ideally around six months out.
- Holiday Season travel should be tackled 8-10 months in advance for the best chance at first-choice space.
- Africa – Ideally we book a year out on more complex itineraries involving more than one room or multiple camps within a very specific timeframe, so let’s connect now if you’re considering Africa in 2025.
- We are also well into 2025 for first-choice River Cruises, which remain incredibly high in demand, with some cabins being held before pricing is even released. (Flexible deposit T&C to your benefit here when planning early.)
